Minus Hero release “Ruyi” out on June 20th 2025

Minus Hero formed at the beginning of 2019. Their style is a mix of influences ranging from shoegaze to emo, punk rock, and grunge, creating a sound that is unmistakably rooted in the ’90s.
Originally from Rome, Minus Hero later split their base between Rome and Amsterdam, adapting to composing music remotely.
Inspired by bands like Dinosaur Jr, Hüsker Dü, Samiam, and Jawbreaker, Minus Hero combines melodic vocal lines with a raw instrumental section, with heavy fuzz and gritty guitars.
The band has released four EPs in collaboration with labels in Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands, and has toured extensively to share their sound with audiences.

Their third EP, From Down to Dawn, released in 2023, received critical acclaim and made it into Maximum Rocknroll’s top 10 of the year. Most recently, they released their latest EP, Ruyi, distributed by several international labels, including Flamingo Records, Shield Recordings, Dynamite Records, Loops Studio, and White Russian Records.
