bio / about
Crossing Eternity is a Romanian/Swedish symphonic power metal band founded in 2017 by experienced musicians who are truly passionate in the way they approach music. Starting with the recording of their first studio album “The Rising World”, the band members aimed for an organic, old school sound, rejecting the temptation of an over-produced record. The adventure started in the summer of 2017, when Manu, band’s guitarist and composer, entered the studio with a new band in mind and a lots of good song ideas. On the way, the rest of the band joined the process of recording and producing, working until everything was well done, in January 2018.
Even if the name of the band is new, its members are professional musicians, with 25-30 years of experience on the battlefield. The band’s main purpose is to expand the boundaries and spread some magic!
“There is real magic in this world! The soul is asking for it! We just need to listen with love and courage inside us and what you’ll find deep inside, then we will find in the outside world!….” – Manu Savu.
“The Rising World” album blends elements of modern metal with psychedelic soundscapes alluding to the innocence of the 70s’ rock music. The album contains thirteen epic songs, widely varied as composition and arrangement. The lyrics are a natural extension of this musical experience and they are tales of a spiritual journey. At times they talk about the invisible side of the world, other times they speak of fairytale magic characters. Human nature and the causal dynamic of human interactions are also among the approached topics.
“The Rising World” is set to be released on ROCKSHOTS RECORDS on June 15, 2018, featuring an outstanding artwork created by the renowned digital artist Gustavo Sazes.

“Composing the music for this album was like an inner journey for me, almost like a sort of a confession, a deep search of the soul, back and forth, a connection with the mostly unseen, sensitive world’s symbols and metaphors, an essential part from our original existence. This album is a continuous act of honesty, a musical statement between what we can see and what we can’t, a story bordering our touchable and magical worlds.
“It was beyond any mercantile approach and my vision was beautifully supported by my bandmates. We tried to dial down our virtuosity spurts to obtain a more direct and sincere approach” – declared Manu Savu, the guitarist and songwriter of the album.
“Recording this album was the most challenging vocal experience of my life. It brought back the times me and Manu were playing in a rock band, with all the jokes and high energy. The serious effort made me use a lot of techniques and ways of expression I thought I lost or never use again. This is a great achievement and definitely our best work together, in a time I stopped believing in magic. It is something cosmos related in this, it must be. I can’t wait to be on stage with these guys.” – Berti Barbera, the band’s singer.
“To be one in this band is big for me. Playing with these guys is amazing. I am really looking forward to this, to be out there and play those fantastic songs with these fantastic guys and musicians” – says Uffe Tillman, the Swedish part of the band.
